The Forest Cafe 10th Birthday Banquet, Edinburgh, 2010

To celebrate the 10th birthday of the voluntary arts organisation, The Forest Cafe, I designed and built an 8 feet tall cake which party guests could walk inside of. Hanging from its ceiling were individually designed cupcakes- made by myself and fellow Forest volunteers, while the walls of the inside of the cake were decorated with flowers and fairy lights. When it was time to sing happy birthday the party guests queued to go inside this fantasy world where they could choose their own cupcake and stick a candle in. Then, at midnight, the hundreds of guests lit their candles to sing happy birthday. It was a phenomenal moment.
